Role Overview

This fully remote internship presents an opportunity for South African candidates to gain international experience while contributing to a purpose-driven health platform.

The Social Media Intern will collaborate closely with the founders, contributing to content strategy while taking ownership of execution across multiple platforms. The role suits someone with a strong interest in health, science, and digital content, combined with a curiosity for trends and performance-driven content creation.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Execution

  • Support the development of content ideas across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn
  • Create engaging content including captions, carousels, and short-form posts
  • Ensure all content aligns with the company’s tone and branding

Social Media Management

  • Manage consistent daily posting across platforms
  • Monitor engagement and interact with audiences where appropriate
  • Stay informed on platform updates and algorithm changes

Growth & Optimisation

  • Track key performance metrics such as engagement and reach
  • Identify opportunities to improve content performance
  • Test new content formats and creative approaches

AI & Content Tools

  • Leverage AI tools to streamline content production
  • Assist in building scalable systems for content creation and distribution

Ideal Candidate

Background & Availability

  • Open globally, with preference for candidates based in South Africa or the US
  • Available to work 16:00 – 21:00 SAST
  • Demonstrated interest in health, wellness, or medical-related fields
  • Postgraduate studies (Honours or Master’s) are advantageous but not essential

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Highly organised, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Able to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently
  • Creative mindset with a good understanding of social media trends

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn)
  • Basic knowledge of Canva and AI tools (or willingness to learn)
  • Exposure to social media scheduling tools is beneficial
