About the Role
A fast-growing B2C finance brand is seeking an experienced Email Marketing Specialist to take ownership of its lifecycle email strategy. This is a fully remote opportunity, making it well-suited for professionals in South Africa looking to work with an international brand.
The successful candidate will manage the full email marketing function, from crafting compelling messaging to executing campaigns and optimising performance.
Rather than building systems from scratch, the focus is on leveraging an already established framework to drive results through strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute lifecycle email campaigns
- Plan and manage campaign calendars and marketing briefs
- Oversee promotional sends, automated flows, and lifecycle sequences
Copywriting & Messaging
- Write high-converting subject lines, offers, and email copy
- Continuously refine messaging based on performance insights
Segmentation & Audience Targeting
- Define and implement segmentation strategies
- Tailor campaigns to different audience groups for improved engagement
Testing & Optimisation
- Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and offers
- Analyse campaign performance and iterate based on results
Requirements
Essential Experience
- Proven track record in email marketing within ecommerce, SaaS, or finance B2C environments
- Strong understanding of what drives conversions in email campaigns
- Experience working with structured processes and AI-supported workflows
- High level of organisation and reliability for ongoing remote work
Advantageous (Not Required)
- Experience using Customer.io
- Knowledge of HTML email design (either manual coding or AI-assisted)
Tools & Working Environment
The team operates using Customer.io as its primary email service provider. Email templates and workflows are already established, with AI tools integrated into the process. The specialist’s role will focus on execution, optimisation, and strategic input rather than system development.
