Role Overview
A digital marketing agency based in Pretoria is seeking a Google Ads Account Manager to join its growing team. This is a hybrid role, combining in-office collaboration with some flexibility, and is therefore best suited to candidates already based in Pretoria.
The role centres on managing and optimising paid search campaigns while working alongside SEO specialists, social media managers, and developers. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering measurable campaign performance through data-driven strategies and continuous optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Execution
- Plan and manage Google Ads campaigns across various formats
- Oversee Search, Display, Remarketing, Performance Max, and Shopping campaigns
- Conduct keyword research and refine targeting using data insights and AI tools
- Develop engaging ad copy for responsive and dynamic formats
- Manage bidding strategies and budget allocation, including automated approaches
Analytics and Reporting
- Evaluate campaign performance using Google Analytics 4
- Track daily campaign activity, budgets, and key performance indicators
- Build performance dashboards and reports using Google Looker Studio
Client and Account Management
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular updates and reporting
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve campaign outcomes
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates for campaigns
- Assist with administrative processes such as billing and budget coordination
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Two to three years of experience managing Google Ads campaigns
- Valid Google Ads Search certification
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics 4
- Experience with Google Looker Studio
- Solid understanding of PPC concepts including keyword strategy and bidding
- Experience with Performance Max campaigns and automation
- Strong copywriting skills for paid advertising
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act on data
- Strong communication skills for client engagement
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns with attention to detail
Advantageous
- Additional Google Ads certifications (Video or Shopping)
- Experience with Google Merchant Centre
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager
- Understanding of SEO and its relationship with paid media
- Experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla
- Basic design skills using Canva or Photoshop
