Job Overview

An experienced and results-driven SEO Lead is sought to oversee and implement the organization’s organic growth strategy. This remote opportunity is suited to a commercially focused SEO professional who can effectively combine strategic planning with hands-on execution across technical SEO, content optimization, keyword research, and performance analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing search engine visibility, increasing high-quality organic traffic, and delivering measurable business results through data-driven SEO initiatives. The role involves collaborating with content, development, and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities, prioritize optimization efforts, and execute scalable SEO strategies that support long-term business objectives.

This position is ideal for an individual who excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments, enjoys tackling both technical and content-related SEO challenges, and is capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities in a fully remote setting.

Core Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Growth

  • Lead and manage the organisation’s SEO roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business growth objectives.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to improve organic search visibility, website traffic, and conversion performance.
  • Develop and implement both short-term and long-term SEO strategies across multiple digital platforms and assets.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, search engine algorithm changes, and competitor activities to maintain a strong competitive position.

Technical SEO

  • Conduct detailed technical SEO audits and recommend prioritised optimisation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to address issues related to crawlability, indexing, website speed, Core Web Vitals, and structured data implementation.
  • Enhance website architecture, URL structures, canonical tags, redirects, and XML sitemap management to support search engine performance.
  • Ensure all websites adhere to current SEO best practices across both desktop and mobile environments.

Keyword Research & Content Optimisation

  • Carry out comprehensive keyword research to uncover valuable search opportunities and growth areas.
  • Evaluate search intent and competitor strategies to guide content planning and optimisation efforts.
  • Develop SEO-focused content briefs to support writers and content teams in creating high-performing content.
  • Optimise existing website content and landing pages to improve rankings, user engagement, and organic traffic.
  • Identify content gaps and scalable opportunities to strengthen long-term organic growth.

On-Page SEO & Internal Linking

  • Improve on-page SEO elements, including metadata, headings, content structure, and page optimization across priority web pages.
  • Design and implement internal linking strategies that enhance topical relevance, authority, and search engine crawl efficiency.
  • Ensure SEO recommendations complement user experience (UX) objectives and conversion-focused goals.

Authority Building & Off-Page SEO

  • Contribute to backlink acquisition strategies and initiatives aimed at strengthening online authority.
  • Monitor backlink profiles and identify opportunities to enhance domain credibility and search performance.
  • Work alongside relevant teams to support outreach campaigns, partnerships, and other activities that contribute to SEO growth.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and evaluate SEO performance using industry-standard tools, including Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, and Screaming Frog.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as keyword rankings, organic traffic, user engagement, and conversion metrics.
  • Prepare regular SEO performance reports that provide actionable insights, strategic recommendations, and prioritized improvement areas.
  • Communicate SEO progress, results, and business impact effectively to stakeholders and decision-makers.

Skills & Requirements

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of practical SEO experience, supported by a demonstrated history of delivering organic growth and improved search performance.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization techniques, and content-focused SEO strategies.
  • Proven experience leading SEO projects from strategic planning through to successful implementation and execution.
  • Proficiency in industry-leading SEO and analytics platforms, including:
    • Ahrefs
    • Semrush
    • Screaming Frog
    • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
    • Google Search Console
  • Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and transform insights into practical recommendations and optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in improving keyword rankings, increasing organic website traffic, and generating qualified leads or conversions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently within a fully remote working environment.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) best practices and SEO-focused funnel optimization techniques.
  • Previous experience within B2B, SaaS, marketplace, logistics, recruitment, mobility, or lead-generation sectors.
  • Knowledge of programmatic SEO methodologies and scalable content growth strategies.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, schema markup, JavaScript SEO principles, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience working in start-up businesses or rapidly growing organisations.
