A Germany-based premium lifestyle and design brand in the pet accessories industry is seeking a hands-on Project Manager (E-commerce Growth & CRM) to lead its D2C expansion across the US and German markets. The role is fully remote and open to candidates based in South Africa or Europe, with occasional travel required when needed.

About Role

This is a full-time independent contractor position focused on driving e-commerce growth, customer retention, and digital execution for a fast-growing premium dog products brand. The company is entering an exciting scale-up phase following product development and is now focused on market entry and long-term customer value.

The role is based in Germany, with working hours aligned to European business time (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CET).

What This Role Entails

The Project Manager will take full ownership of the Shopify store, ensuring smooth backend operations, catalogue management, app integrations, and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).

A major part of the role involves leading CRM and lifecycle marketing using Klaviyo, including automated email flows, customer journeys, and retention-focused campaigns designed to increase lifetime value.

The role also oversees D2C growth execution for both the US and German markets, ensuring consistent brand positioning across all digital touchpoints. In addition, the Project Manager will coordinate freelancers and collaborators, ensuring campaigns and product launches are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.

They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, managing multiple stakeholders, and translating strategic goals into actionable execution.

Requirements for This Role

• 4+ years of experience in e-commerce or digital marketing, ideally within D2C brands
• Strong hands-on experience with Shopify (store management, backend operations, optimisation)
• Advanced experience with Klaviyo (email flows, segmentation, lifecycle marketing)
• Solid understanding of D2C metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, conversion rates)
• Experience managing multi-channel campaigns and digital growth initiatives
• Strong project management skills, including coordinating freelancers or external teams
• Excellent communication skills with C1-level English (German is a strong advantage)
•Ability to work European hours and collaborate across time zones
• Valid passport and willingness to travel to Germany when required
