Job Overview

This role is ideal for a Creative Strategist specializing in health and wellness DTC brands, with a strong ability to think in terms of hooks, angles, and mechanisms that drive performance. The position requires someone who can consistently develop high-performing ad scripts and quickly analyze successful campaign, clearly identifying the awareness level, angle, mechanism, and key driver behind their success.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-converting short-form video scripts for platforms such as TikTok, Meta, and YouTube Shorts. They will craft compelling hooks, angles, and creative concepts tailored to different target audiences and stages of awareness.

In addition, the role involves translating proven ideas into clear and concise creative briefs for editors and content creators, including direction on structure, tone, visuals, and production requirements. The strategist will also develop supporting copy for landing pages, advertorials, listicles, and offer pages to ensure cohesive messaging across campaigns.

A strong focus on performance is essential, with rapid iteration based on data insights & scaling winning creatives while quickly discontinuing underperforming ones. The role also requires leveraging AI tools and workflows to enhance research, ideation, and creative execution efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

  • Produces approximately 40 fully developed creative briefs per month, ensuring each brief is detailed enough for editors to execute without requiring additional clarification.
  • Develops comprehensive briefs that include multiple hook variations, distinct angles, defined mechanisms, structured shot lists, and clear references moving beyond vague ideas or surface-level direction.
  • Continuously generates and refines new creative angles and iterations on a weekly basis, informed by top-performing content and performance benchmarks.
  • Operates within a structured creative testing environment where brand, media buying, and creative teams collaborate closely to optimize output.
  • Has direct access to real-time performance data for every concept produced, enabling rapid learning and iteration.
  • Receives same-week feedback on creative performance to quickly identify winning and underperforming ideas.
  • Utilises key tools and platforms including Adnova, Foreplay, Motion, Notion, and Slack to streamline workflow, collaboration, and creative development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A systems thinker who builds repeatable frameworks for producing high-performing creatives rather than relying on one-off ideas
  • Demonstrates a variable-driven mindset, consistently developing and testing different hooks, angles, and mechanisms
  • Highly analytical, with a strong focus on understanding why a creative works, not just what worked
  • An end-to-end operator capable of managing the full creative process, from insight and angle development to hooks, scripts, briefs, and continuous iteration based on performance data

Skills & Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Demonstrated experience writing short-form video ad scripts specifically for Meta and TikTok platforms, with a clear focus on performance marketing content (excluding email marketing, long-form VSLs, static image ads, and Google Search copy)
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in copywriting within performance marketing or a Creative Strategist role
  • Proven background working within DTC startups or DTC-focused agencies, particularly brands generating between $1M and $50M in revenue
  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end ownership of short-form video ads, including development of hooks, selection of angles, and definition of creative mechanisms
  • Experience within the health, wellness, beauty, or fitness industries
  • Working proficiency in leveraging AI tools to support research, ideation, and creative development processes

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience using tools such as Adnova, Foreplay, and Motion
  • Experience creating unscripted talking-point briefs for creators or talent
  • A well-developed swipe file or creative reference library built over time
  • Familiarity with end-to-end creative production workflows, from concept development through to execution

  • Provides a monthly compensation package ranging from $2,500 to $3,200 USD, with additional performance-based bonuses.
