Job Overview
The role involves supporting businesses with their day-to-day social media activity while also contributing to their long-term digital strategy. A Social Media Manager helps an agency maintain a consistent and engaging online presence without requiring the internal team to manage every aspect of its social media channels.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and organized Social Media Manager to take ownership of an estate agency’s online presence while working fully remotely. The successful candidate will represent the brand across its social media platforms, transforming property listings, sales achievements and everyday agency activities into engaging content that captures attention. They will also work closely with the wider team to ensure that all content remains aligned with the brand and is delivered consistently and on schedule.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Develop engaging social media posts highlighting new property listings, sold properties and client success stories.
- Write captions and social media copy that reflect the agency’s established brand voice and tone.
- Edit property walkthroughs, Reels and other video content for social media and marketing purposes.
- Enhance and edit property photography for listings and promotional materials.
- Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments and messages across all platforms.
- Develop strategies to increase the agency’s social media following, reach and engagement.
- Monitor social media performance and prepare reports on key metrics and results.
- Assist with the management and optimization of paid social media advertising campaigns when required.
- Keep up to date with the latest social media trends and adapt content strategies accordingly.
- Work closely with the wider marketing and sales teams to coordinate campaigns and promotional activities.
- Manage content calendars and maintain a consistent and well-planned posting schedule.
- Create informative and engaging blog content for the agency’s website.
- Update and maintain website content to ensure information remains accurate and relevant.
- Update and manage property listings across relevant property portals.
- Design and produce professional property brochures and marketing materials.
- Ensure the agency’s branding and visual identity remain consistent across all digital platforms and marketing materials.
Skills & Requirements
Ideal Candidate
- Three to five years of professional social media experience, with experience in the estate agency or property sector considered a strong advantage but not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Excellent copywriting skills, with a strong eye for engaging content and visual presentation.
- Experience editing both video and photography, including property walkthroughs, Reels and other social media content.
- Proficiency in Canva, with basic knowledge of video editing software considered an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Based in South Africa and able to work effectively from home with reliable internet connectivity and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
Hardware Requirements
- Their own reliable computer or laptop.
- ADSL or fibre internet with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps.
- Headphones suitable for use with the company’s VoIP phone systems.
- Up-to-date antivirus software installed on their computer.
- A UPS or backup battery solution to maintain connectivity during load shedding.
