Role Overview
KingMakers is expanding its marketing team and is hiring a Content and Social Media Manager to support the growth of SuperSportBet. This role is based in Cape Town and follows a hybrid structure, making it suitable for candidates located in the city or willing to relocate.
The position focuses on leading content strategy and organic social media efforts across South Africa and Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for building brand visibility, increasing engagement, and driving organic traffic through high-quality, data-informed content.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Planning
- Develop and manage a monthly content calendar aligned with campaigns and sporting events
- Build and execute a content strategy across key brand pillars
- Coordinate with internal teams, agencies, and content collaborators
- Ensure content aligns with brand tone, identity, and objectives
Social Media Management
- Define and manage relevant social media platforms
- Oversee content publishing across all channels
- Optimise social platforms to drive traffic to the website
- Collaborate with community management and paid media teams
Trends and Insights
- Monitor industry trends and audience behaviour using analytics tools
- Adapt content strategies based on emerging trends and insights
- Keep stakeholders informed on platform changes and opportunities
Analytics and Reporting
- Track and analyse performance metrics such as engagement, reach, and traffic
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reports
- Translate data into actionable insights to improve content strategy
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and support a small internal team
- Establish content standards and workflows
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment across marketing and business units
- Manage allocated social media budgets effectively
Requirements
- Three to six years of experience in content and social media management
- Strong mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and analytics
- Strong storytelling and content creation skills, including visual creation using tools like Canva
- Experience using tools such as Sprout or Brandwatch
- Familiarity with project management platforms like Trello, Asana, or ClickUp
- Understanding of Google Analytics is advantageous
- Experience in telecoms, e-commerce, or similar industries is beneficial
