Job Overview:
The client is looking to hire an Email Marketing Specialist responsible for designing, executing, and optimising email campaigns aimed at driving engagement, nurturing leads, and boosting conversions. This position requires a blend of creative copywriting, technical expertise with email service providers (ESPs), and analytical performance tracking. The specialist manages the end-to-end campaign process — including audience segmentation, automation, deliverability, and reporting — ensuring email functions as a consistent and measurable revenue-generating channel.
Core Responsibilities
Campaign Development & Execution:
The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and deploying campaigns across platforms such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Marketo, Mailchimp, or ActiveCampaign. This includes crafting engaging subject lines, body copy, and CTAs tailored to specific audience segments, as well as designing responsive email templates consistent with brand guidelines, including HTML/CSS adjustments when needed.
Audience Segmentation & List Management:
The specialist manages contact databases ranging from 20,000 to over 200,000 entries, segmenting audiences by persona, lifecycle stage, engagement, and geography. Regular list maintenance, including removing hard bounces, spam traps, and inactive users, ensures database health and campaign effectiveness.
Automation & Nurture Programs:
The role involves building automated workflows such as drip sequences, abandoned cart flows, and behaviour-triggered campaigns. The specialist tests and validates workflow logic to guarantee automated campaigns function correctly.
Deliverability & Compliance:
The specialist monitors inbox placement and sender reputation using tools like Litmus, GlockApps, or Postmark. Responsibilities include managing domain health, DNS/SPF/DKIM settings, suppression lists, and ensuring all campaigns comply with regulations such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA.
Performance Optimisation:
The specialist runs A/B tests on subject lines, copy, CTAs, and send times, analysing key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and unsubscribes. Campaigns are iteratively refined based on data insights to maximise performance.
Reporting:
The specialist produces weekly and monthly dashboards to summarise campaign performance, tracks revenue attribution by integrating ESP data with tools like Google Analytics, Looker, or CRM dashboards, and presents findings and strategic recommendations to sales and marketing leadership
