Job Overview
The client is looking for skilled contract Web Designers to join their Web Squad team. Successful candidates will be responsible for producing high-quality, development-ready designs that align with the brand’s standards, while working closely and collaboratively with the internal development team.
Core Responsibilities
Design Execution
- Produce polished, accurate, and development-ready Figma designs for web pages.
- Ensure all designs align with established branding guidelines.
- Incorporate final copy, real images, and production-ready assets.
- Create responsive designs for mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints.
- Define hover states, animations, and interactive behaviours.
- Annotate components requiring clarification for development.
Development Collaboration
- Structure designs for easy interpretation by developers with clear organisation and constraints.
- Flag complex modules or components needing additional development notes.
- Maintain properly labelled, organised, and reviewed design files.
- Implement design revisions efficiently based on stakeholder feedback.
- Ensure consistency with the established style direction throughout revisions.
Brand Alignment
- Integrate visual elements and tone from the Strategy Brief and Brand Guide documents.
- Reflect strategic intent through layout, structure, and visual emphasis.
Project Management
- Update project status in ClickUp, marking designs as “Ready for Review” or “Ready for Dev.”
- Create Loom walkthrough videos for milestone reviews when required.
- Incorporate feedback from MarkUp or Loom comments.
Decision Authority
- Make decisions on page layout and hierarchy within approved sitemap parameters.
- Control visual expression within brand guidelines.
- Define interactive details such as hover states and reveal-on-click behaviours.
- Make design enhancement decisions to elevate user experience.
Collaboration Requirements
- Provide input on site structure during strategy and sitemap review phases.
- Flag copy overflow, formatting issues, or content flow inconsistencies.
- Communicate proactively regarding development feasibility and design complexity.
- Offer guidance on brand interpretation and visual tone execution.
Skills & Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Figma.
- Robust portfolio showcasing experience in responsive web design.
- Demonstrated ability to produce development-ready design specifications.
- Experience working with design systems and component-based design methodologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to accept and integrate feedback effectively.
- Familiarity with ClickUp or comparable project management tools is preferred.
