Job Overview
The client is looking for a highly adaptable Web Developer to become part of their growing digital team. In this role, the developer will take responsibility for building, maintaining, and enhancing high-performance websites across both WordPress and Shopify platforms. Core Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance websites on WordPress and Shopify.
- Customise themes, plugins, and templates to meet brand and UX requirements.
- Ensure all websites are responsive, SEO-friendly, and optimised for speed and conversions.
- Implement and manage API integrations, payment gateways, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to maintain functionality across browsers and devices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to turn concepts and designs into fully functional web pages.
- Monitor and improve site performance, accessibility, and scalability.
- Stay informed on modern web technologies and industry best practices.
Skills & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing WordPress websites, including Elementor, Gutenberg, and WooCommerce.
- Strong expertise in Shopify, including Liquid, Shopify CLI, and custom theme development.
- Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap and Tailwind.
- Solid understanding of web performance optimisation, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals.
- Practical knowledge of SEO best practices, including metadata and structured data.
- Experience integrating APIs, including REST and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with domain management, hosting solutions, and DNS configuration.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Webflow, Framer, or Next.js.
- Familiarity with backend services like Firebase or Supabase.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and proficiency in Figma.
- Basic experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and staging environments.
- Some design or content formatting capabilities.
