Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator / Accounts Manager- Indirect Media

Job Overview

Indirect Media is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organised professional to join its growing team. As an emerging agency without a formal corporate office, the company is looking for a self-motivated individual who can thrive in a hybrid working environment. The successful candidate will primarily work from a home office but must be available to attend client shoots and in-person meetings across Gauteng when required.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong “builder’s mindset” — a person who is eager to contribute to the growth and long-term success of the business rather than simply filling a role. The ideal candidate will bring together formal education, hands-on experience, and exceptional attention to detail. This role suits a driven, ambitious individual who consistently delivers high-quality work on time and takes full ownership of their responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management
Oversee and manage all social media platforms — including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, and others — for multiple clients across diverse industries. This includes daily posting, scheduling, and platform updates. The role also involves active community management by responding to comments and direct messages to foster positive engagement and brand storytelling, while ensuring strict brand consistency across all client channels.
  • Account Management (Client-Facing)
Act as the main point of contact for allocated client accounts, handling day-to-day communication and relationship management. Coordinate closely with graphic designers, videographers, and editors to deliver on client requirements. Prepare clear and detailed content briefs for campaigns and shoots, and manage internal workflows using task management tools to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Content Planning and Creation
Develop structured monthly content calendars aligned with client goals. Produce engaging, on-brand copy for social posts, campaigns, and stories. Contribute to creative direction for visual assets such as photos, videos, and graphics, and ensure all content aligns with wider marketing campaigns and key calendar moments.
  • Reporting and Analytics
Use Hootsuite Pro to schedule content and generate in-depth performance reports. Compile detailed monthly analytics reports with written insights on both short- and long-term trends. Track platform updates and emerging trends to inform and refine future social media strategies.
  • Live Event Coverage and Mobile Content
Provide on-site social media coverage for events and client shoots across Gauteng. Capture and publish live stories, behind-the-scenes content, and real-time updates. Conduct mobile interviews when required and organise raw footage for client content libraries.
  • YouTube and Paid Media Management
Upload, optimise, and manage YouTube content, including titles, descriptions, tags, playlists, and metadata. Support the planning, setup, and management of paid advertising campaigns, monitor performance, and produce spend and optimisation reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Innovation and AI Consulting
Support the development of the company’s in-house Marketing Artificial Intelligence consulting division. Integrate proven AI tools and technologies into client workflows to enhance efficiency, business value, and return on investment (ROI).

Skills & Requirements

  • Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in Marketing or a related field, supported by 2–5 years of relevant, hands-on professional experience.
  • Technical Proficiency
Preference will be given to candidates who are comfortable working within the Apple ecosystem, including iPhone and MacBook, to align with the company’s internal workflows.
  • Professional Attributes (“The It Factor”)
The role requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the discipline to operate independently. The successful candidate will be confident and personable when advising clients, while also remaining grounded and willing to manage routine administrative responsibilities.
  • Connectivity and Work Setup
Applicants must have a dedicated home office environment and access to a stable Fibre internet connection. This requirement is non-negotiable due to the remote and hybrid nature of the role.
  • Mobility and Availability
The ability to travel reliably between Pretoria and Johannesburg is essential for attending client meetings, on-site shoots, and events.
  • Soft Skills and Personal Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing and copywriting capabilities, the ability to perform effectively under pressure, and proven skill in managing multiple priorities simultaneously. A creative mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the self-discipline to consistently meet deadlines and quality standards in a remote working environment are also required.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV along with a short cover letter outlining why they are a strong fit for a fast-growing, hybrid agency environment. Applications should be emailed to digital@indirectmedia.co.za.
