A London-based bookseller, driven by a passion for matching readers with their next favourite read, is expanding its paid social media presence. The business is seeking a creative partner to develop high-performing advertising content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. The focus goes beyond generating likes—this role is about creating scroll-stopping visuals that convert attention into book sales.
The position involves working as a Creative Virtual Assistant, dedicated to producing engaging video and image assets for paid advertising campaigns. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the business owner to transform marketing concepts and angles into compelling visual content. While appearing on camera is not mandatory, it is considered an advantage. A strong understanding of the target market and an instinct for what captures and holds audience attention are essential.
Core Responsibilities
- Video Editing (CapCut): Edit raw or stock footage into dynamic, high-energy TikTok and Reels advertisements, with a strong grasp of trending audio, effective pacing, and compelling visual hooks.
- Static Ad Design (Canva): Create high-converting static visuals for Facebook and Instagram, including carousels, quote-based designs, and book bundle promotions.
- Ad Variations & Testing: Produce multiple creative variations of the same concept for A/B testing, adjusting key elements such as the opening hook (first three seconds) and the call to action.
- Trend Monitoring: Actively track #BookTok and related social media trends, recommending ways to adapt relevant trends into effective paid advertising content.
Skills & Requirements
Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiable):
- Experience: Demonstrated experience producing short-form video content for brands on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels, with a clear understanding of the distinction between organic content and paid advertising.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in CapCut and Canva for video editing and graphic design.
- Equipment: Access to a reliable laptop or PC capable of handling video editing tasks efficiently.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in English, both written and spoken, with a strong command of UK spelling and grammar conventions.
- Creative Eye: A strong awareness of current aesthetic and visual trends, including styles such as Dark Academia, Romantasy, and the Clean Girl aesthetic.
Desirable Attributes:
- A genuine interest in books and reading.
- Familiarity with project management tools, such as Trello or similar platforms.
