Job Overview

The Senior Copywriter & Brand Manager is a strategic storyteller responsible for shaping and safeguarding the voice of a global portfolio of impact-driven brands. This role goes beyond writing compelling copy; it defines brand identities that resonate emotionally, inspire action, and turn curiosity into long-term commitment. As a senior leader within the digital and creative function, this position plays a pivotal role in defining the global presence of impact-led travel. The Senior Copywriter & Brand Manager leads and mentors a team of digital professionals in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, ensuring that creative strategy directly supports the growth of conservation and education initiatives worldwide.

Acting as the guardian of voice across key brands including GVI, Bushwise, IFGA, and World of Difference, the role sets the standard for copywriting excellence and progressive brand identity. Through clear, consistent, and purpose-led messaging, this position ensures the organisation’s mission cuts through a crowded digital landscape and connects meaningfully with Gen Z and purpose-led travellers—the audiences who will carry that impact forward.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and implement progressive brand identities to elevate global presence.
  • Write, edit, and deliver high-impact copy across web, social, email, campaigns, presentations, and marketing assets.
  • Set the standard for copywriting excellence, ensuring all content is emotive, precise, and conversion-focused.
  • Lead multi-channel campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Mentor and guide a team of digital professionals, providing strategic direction across video, social, and web.
  • Use creative strategy to drive growth metrics, including engagement, click-through rates, and conversions.
  • Oversee editorial, QA, and SEO processes to ensure brand consistency and ethical integrity.
  • Manage communications during sensitive or high-risk situations with clarity and confidence.
  • Stay ahead of trends in Gen Z culture, identity, and conservation to keep marketing fresh and relevant.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years of copywriting experience with a proven record of emotive, high-impact storytelling.
  • 2+ years in Brand Management or a similar strategic leadership role.
  • Degree or qualification in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing, mentoring, and inspiring a high-performing team.

Bonus / Preferred:

  • Experience with Gen Z-focused brands in UK and US markets.
  • Background in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • First-hand travel experience or familiarity with volunteering and gap-year sectors.
