Job Overview

The successful candidate will join the Prisma Data Platform team, which oversees Accelerate, Prisma Postgres, and the underlying bare-metal cloud infrastructure supporting these products. This role involves contributing to various projects across the entire technology stack within the team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and deploy a websocket server enabling customers to connect to Prisma Postgres from WASM environments where TCP connections are not available.
  • Collaborate with the ORM team to define the server protocol, ensuring seamless integration and client adapter implementation.
  • Select and deploy a globally distributed configuration store (such as etcd or rqlite) to securely manage encrypted authentication secrets and facilitate global routing for Prisma Postgres.
  • Partner with an infrastructure engineer to enhance the automation of bare-metal server operations, aiming to minimise the provisioning time for new servers.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues causing sporadic connectivity problems experienced by customers.

Skills & Requirements

The ideal candidate is expected to meet most of the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A minimum of eight years’ experience working within agile software engineering teams, with a proven track record of delivering reliable web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and Go (Golang).
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and scaling distributed systems; experience with bare-metal server environments will be considered advantageous.
  • Solid background in database and backend technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL databases, along with familiarity in working with cloud services and APIs (GraphQL/REST).
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, balancing excellence with practicality, and displaying a strong sense of ownership—making informed trade-offs and driving results that create meaningful impact.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to express complex ideas clearly, adapt messaging for various audiences, provide and accept constructive feedback, and promote effective cross-team collaboration.
  • A structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, marked by thoughtful decision-making, clear goal-setting, anticipation of potential challenges, and efficient execution while maintaining alignment with key stakeholders.
