About the Role
NTT DATA is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Azure Integrations Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. The role is central to driving cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective environments, and mentoring junior engineers. This position offers a hybrid working model and is open to candidates based in South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement complex Azure solutions aligned with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization projects, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of Azure environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure services into enterprise applications.
- Monitor cloud performance, optimise costs, and maintain system reliability.
- Implement and enforce cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Stay current with Azure innovations and recommend improvements to architecture and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in Azure services, including networking, compute, storage, identity, and security.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management, and governance frameworks.
- Relevant Azure certifications, such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer Associate).

- Azure Logic Apps: Automating business workflows.
- Azure API Management: Creating, publishing, securing, and monitoring APIs.
- Azure Service Bus: Implementing messaging patterns for decoupled systems.
- Azure Functions: Developing serverless, event-driven code.
- Event Grid & Event Hub: Managing real-time event streaming and routing.
- Azure Data Factory: Building and managing ETL data pipelines.
Additional Proficiencies:
- Deep understanding of Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Storage, Networking, and related services.
- Scripting and automation skills with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
- Networking knowledge: VNETs, NSGs, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, and Load Balancers.
- Security expertise: Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Security Center.
- Monitoring and logging: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
