Job Overview
An international education platform is expanding its talent network and is currently seeking qualified K–12 teachers from South Africa for part-time online positions. These educators will work primarily with young learners, ranging from kindergarten to primary school most of whom are based in Asia. Lessons will be delivered online during peak teaching hours, aligned with weekday evenings and weekends in China.
Skills & Requirements:
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.
- Must posses a TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification .
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English, with a neutral accent and clear pronunciation.
- A minimum of one year’s experience teaching English online to young learners (Kindergarten to Primary 6), ideally with students from Asia.
- Capable of preparing and developing lesson materials independently.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver English lessons effectively to children aged 5–12 using English as the medium of instruction.
- Should have access to a reliable desktop or laptop computer and be comfortable using online platforms such as Zoom for teaching purposes.
- Must have a stable, wired internet connection and a dependable backup power source.
- Willing to engage in a minimum six-month teaching commitment with AirClass.
- Able to commit to a consistent schedule of at least four teaching days per week, including a minimum of 16 peak hours during weekday evenings and weekends.
Technical Requirements:
- A desktop or laptop computer is required for conducting lessons.
- The device should run on Windows 7 or later, or macOS.
- The processor must be at least a fifth-generation Intel Core i3 or equivalent, or higher.
- A minimum of 4GB RAM is necessary, though 8GB is recommended for optimal performance.
- At least 100GB of available storage space on the hard drive is expected.
- A quality headset with a built-in microphone and noise-cancellation capability is essential for clear audio communication.
- A high-definition camera (built-in or external) with a resolution of no less than 720p is required for video sessions.
- Internet connectivity should meet a minimum speed of 50 Mbps, with a preference for a wired connection to ensure stable and uninterrupted teaching sessions.
