Job Overview
The organisation is seeking Online English Teachers (ESL) for remote full-time or part-time roles based in South Africa. The successful candidates will primarily deliver one-on-one lessons to adult and/or young learners. Teaching will be conducted using E-native’s structured curriculum and ready-made resources, allowing educators to concentrate on effective instruction, meaningful learner engagement, and measurable student progress.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one online English lessons to Polish learners (adults, children, or a combination, depending on the teacher’s strengths).
- Utilise E-native’s provided curriculum and Teaching Toolkit, without the need to create lessons from scratch.
- Focus on developing learners’ conversational fluency and confidence, while supporting listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress through brief lesson notes (light administrative duties).
- Conduct lessons via Zoom and confidently use relevant online teaching tools.
- Build strong rapport with learners and maintain a supportive, positive online learning environment.
Skills & Requirements
Required:
- Must be currently residing in South Africa (for payment and administrative purposes).
- Demonstrates fluent, native-level English proficiency with clear spoken and written communication skills.
- Holds a TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA qualification of at least 120 hours.
- Has a stable internet connection and a professional teaching setup, including a quiet workspace, webcam, and high-quality headset.
- Has access to backup power (UPS or inverter) to ensure continuity during loadshedding.
- Is confident using Zoom and able to adapt to various online teaching tools and platforms.
- Exhibits reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to engage effectively with learners of different age groups.
Advantageous:
- Previous experience teaching English in an online environment.
- Experience working with adult learners and/or children.
Schedule
- Peak teaching hours generally occur from Monday to Friday, between 15:00 and 21:00 SAST.
- A minimum weekday availability from 16:00 to 21:00 SAST during peak times is required.
- Additional teaching hours may be offered, including morning and weekend sessions, where available.
