Job Description
- Teach ESL curriculum at a high level of proficiency
- Assess and identify students’ individual learning needs
- Keep students engaged using a variety of teaching techniques: lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations
- Assign and mark homework
- Evaluate and review the progress of students and discuss results with them
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience teaching ESL (TESOL / TEFL/ CELTA, etc)
- Bachelors required
- 2 Years ESL experience required
- Enthusiastic, flexible, highly responsible; able to motivate and inspire students
- Ability to work with Zoom and Moodle (preferred)
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) (preferred)
Application Requirements
- As the majority of learners in Latin America take classes between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (South African time), applicants are asked to confirm their availability to teach during these hours.
- While the hourly rate of $10 USD is outlined in the job description, candidates are requested to reconfirm their agreement to this rate.
- Applicants must also provide a short demo lesson (maximum 5 minutes), uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted video. This lesson should highlight their ESL teaching abilities, using self-prepared materials on any ESL topic suitable for adult learners (note: Canaway Global Learning does not currently offer courses for children). The video link should be included in the application.
