Job Overview
Pangea Services is seeking motivated individuals interested in gaining experience in ESL teaching. This opportunity is offered as a temporary teaching position, running until 31st December 2025.
Core Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting both private (one-on-one) and group lessons, accommodating up to eight students.
- They will also be required to provide each student with a post-class report.
Skills & Requirements
- Applicants must hold a completed Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
- TEFL teaching certification is preferred.
- Clear, neutral accent is essential.
- High level of computer literacy required.
- Must be a South African citizen or hold a study/work permit valid for at least 12 months.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to participate in a five-day virtual training assessment.
- Must be able to work from home and meet the following technical requirements:
- Processor: Minimum Intel i5 (10th gen) / Ryzen 5 3000+ / M1 Mac / i5 Mac (Intel)
- Operating System: Windows 10 (Intel/Ryzen) or Mac OS X 10.13+
- RAM: Minimum 8GB
- Graphics: Any (Intel), Nvidia 1050 or higher (Ryzen), Any (Mac)
- Device: Laptop or desktop with a functioning webcam (iPads, tablets, and mobile phones are not permitted)
- Camera: 1080p external USB webcam (Logitech C920 recommended)
- Headset: USB-connected, noise-cancelling (Plantronics C320-M recommended)
- Screen Resolution: Minimum 1366×768
- Storage: Minimum 30GB free capacity
- Internet: Stable connection with at least 10 Mbps download and upload speed; LAN/Ethernet cable and fixed fibre connection preferred
Work Environment
- The role offers an incentivised pay structure, rewarding teachers based on student ratings.

Additional Information
- The company operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Shift schedules are dependent on student availability.
- Successful candidates are required to work a minimum of 30–35 hours per week, which may include weekends.
