How Flexhire Works
Flexhire operates in a fast-moving environment using React, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS. Engineers at Flexhire take full ownership of their features — from ideation through development and launch — while integrating user feedback rapidly via a Kanban methodology.
Flexhire is an AI-first engineering team, leveraging tools like Cursor and Claude Code to enhance velocity and development quality.
Team collaboration is fully remote using Slack, with daily video standups and asynchronous communication across time zones.
Key Responsibilities
As a Fullstack Engineer at Flexhire, you will:
- Design and build features for the ATS, HRIS, and Member Network platforms
- Take end-to-end ownership of product features — from code to customer impact
- Implement functionality on both frontend and backend codebases
- Use AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to accelerate output
- Write and maintain comprehensive automated tests for reliability and performance
- Participate in design discussions and product strategy
- Stay closely involved with users, prototypes, UX designs, backend logic, and infrastructure
- Manage your time with flexible remote hours, overlapping with at least 6 core hours
- Work independently and collaboratively within a small, high-performance team
Tech Stack Overview
- Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Material UI, PWA with SSR
- Backend: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, GraphQL API
- API Communication: GraphQL with Relay client and type-safe auto-generation
- Infrastructure: AWS with automated CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring: Sentry and LogRocket integration
- Tooling: AI development environments (Cursor, Claude Code), Slack, GitHub
Ideal Candidate Profile
Flexhire is looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about building and shipping real-world products
- Has experience in a startup or lean product environment, with a preference for simplicity and speed
- Thrives in remote work settings and is highly organised and self-directed
- Has hands-on experience with React (Next.js) and Ruby on Rails
- Is excited to use modern AI tooling to streamline development
- Is familiar with GraphQL, automated test suites, and continuous delivery pipelines
- Communicates fluently in English, both written and verbal
- Has a degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Has experience with AWS, CI/CD, and full-cycle product ownership
- Brings curiosity, entrepreneurial thinking, and a deep love for coding
- Bonus: Has exposure to recruitment software or global payroll platforms
