Job Overview
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality websites using Wix and WordPress, combining strong technical expertise with a keen eye for design. The Web Developer will deliver a wide range of projects, from brochure-style websites to fully functional WooCommerce stores, while working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure each solution meets both functional requirements and design standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and tailor websites using Wix Classic Editor and Wix Studio in line with client specifications.
- Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress websites, including theme modifications and plugin integrations.
- Configure and manage WooCommerce stores, covering product setup, payment processing, shipping options, and inventory management.
- Build responsive and visually compelling pages using Elementor Pro.
- Implement custom functionality through HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as required.
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and clearly communicate technical solutions.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring high standards of quality and timely delivery.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and optimisation across different browsers and devices.
- Anticipate potential technical challenges and proactively apply solutions to avoid delays or disruptions.
Skills & Requirements
Technical Expertise (Essential)
- Proven experience working with Wix Classic Editor and Wix Studio.
- Advanced proficiency in WordPress, including theme customisation and plugin management.
- Practical, hands-on experience building and maintaining WooCommerce eCommerce solutions.
- Expert-level capability using Elementor Pro for page design and layout.
- Functional knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to deliver custom enhancements and features.
Design Competencies
- Strong understanding of UX/UI best practices and responsive design principles.
- Ability to produce wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
- Experience using design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
