Job Overview
The organisation is seeking experienced Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), or English as a Second Language (ESL) instructors to provide subject matter expertise for AI training initiatives. This fully remote contract position requires professionals to apply their instructional knowledge to support the development and refinement of AI systems designed to better understand adult learners, varied educational pathways, and inclusive teaching methodologies.
Candidates’ practical classroom experience will play a vital role in shaping AI tools that enhance literacy development, high school equivalency preparation, workforce readiness programmes, and English language acquisition support.
Core Responsibilities
- Reviewing and assessing simulated student work to support AI training processes and model enhancement.
- Providing expert-level feedback on lesson plans, instructional resources, and assessment approaches.
- Evaluating AI-generated educational content to ensure pedagogical accuracy, inclusivity, and suitability for adult learners.
- Contributing realistic adult learning scenarios, including differentiated instruction techniques.
- Supporting the development and refinement of datasets that reflect genuine classroom challenges and experiences.
- Documenting observations and insights clearly through structured annotations and written reports.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen AI systems’ understanding of adult education frameworks.
- Promoting inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices within AI training materials.
Skills & Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, TESOL, Adult Education, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching ABE, ASE, and/or ESL within adult learning environments.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and differentiated instructional strategies.
- Experience in assessing student performance and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a remote, collaborative setting.
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusive, learner-centred educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in instructional design or curriculum development for adult education programmes.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms and digital learning tools.
- Foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, or AI literacy concepts.
- An advanced degree or relevant professional certifications, such as TESOL, CELTA, or recognised Adult Education credentials.
