Job Overview
The role involves delivering engaging online English and STEM-focused lessons through Zoom, allowing instructors to teach remotely from home. The organization is seeking experienced English educators with a strong foundation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to support an SAT preparation program.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-designed SAT English and reading comprehension lessons that incorporate STEM-related content
- Lead live instructional sessions via Zoom
- Provide brief, constructive feedback to students after each class
- Maintain a flexible teaching schedule, with shifts assigned in advance and confirmed with the instructor
Skills & Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in English
- A bachelor’s degree or current enrolment in a relevant field such as Communications, Modern Languages, English, Education, Linguistics, Literature, or a related discipline
- Alternatively, a TEFL certification or equivalent qualification is acceptable
- A minimum of one year’s experience teaching English as a foreign language
- Demonstrated interest in or foundational knowledge of STEM-related subjects, including at a general or high-school level
- Current residency in South Africa
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer
- Reliable internet connectivity and a stable power supply
- Availability of a webcam, microphone, and a plain, solid-colour background suitable for online teaching
