Job Overview
This role offers the opportunity to deliver engaging online English and STEM lessons via Zoom from the convenience of home. LatinHire is seeking experienced English teachers with strong knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to contribute to an SAT preparation project.
Teachers enjoy flexible scheduling and can work remotely, provided they have:
- A laptop or computer
- Reliable internet and power supply
- A webcam, microphone, and a plain-colour backdrop
This position is ideal for educators who love teaching but prefer not to spend time preparing lessons or grading, as all instructional materials are provided. Teachers simply log in, deliver lessons, and inspire students.
Whether looking for supplementary income or a consistent part-time role, candidates can choose to work from as little as 16 hours per month up to 30 hours per week.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-designed SAT English and reading comprehension lessons that incorporate STEM-related content.
- Conduct live sessions via Zoom and provide concise post-class feedback to students.
- Follow a flexible schedule, with shifts assigned in advance and confirmed with the teacher
Skills & Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree or current enrolment in Communications, Modern Languages, English, Education, Linguistics, Literature, or a related field. (A TEFL certificate or equivalent is also accepted.)
- Minimum of one year’s experience teaching English as a foreign language.
- Interest in or foundational knowledge of STEM subjects (including general or high-school level).
- Must be currently residing in South Africa.
