A US-based ecommerce company is currently seeking an Email Marketing Strategist with proven experience in segmentation, automation, and data-driven campaign optimisation. The successful candidate will develop and execute high-performing email and SMS campaigns that enhance engagement, strengthen retention, and drive revenue growth. This remote position is open to international candidates, including professionals based in South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise automated email and SMS flows, including welcome series, cart abandonment, post-purchase, and win-back campaigns.
- Build and segment customer lists for personalised communications.
- Create and test high-performing templates, subject lines, and offers.
- Analyse performance metrics such as open rates, CTRs, and conversions to improve results.
- Collaborate with creative teams on campaign design, copy, and layout.
- Enhance retention through loyalty programmes, subscription models, and strategic lifecycle marketing.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in email and SMS marketing for ecommerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.
- Proficiency with tools such as Klaviyo, Postscript, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in building automated flows (welcome, cart abandonment, post-purchase, win-back).
- Strong ability to analyse KPIs and optimise for performance.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing, segmentation, and compliance (GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
- Strong copywriting and/or design skills for engaging campaigns.
