Luck & Co is a performance-driven eCommerce agency dedicated to helping brands unlock their full growth potential through data-backed marketing strategies. With a team of creative strategists, analysts, and marketers, Luck & Co combines innovation, expertise, and precision to deliver measurable results that drive long-term success for its clients.
Job Overview
The company is seeking a talented strategist whose expertise will contribute to its mission of empowering eCommerce teams and generating $500 million in email and SMS revenue for its clients.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Understands that the “30% revenue from email” metric is meaningless without proper context.
- Recognises that email performance begins with the offer, angle, and positioning — not just the creative.
- Feels frustrated when seeing brands send daily blasts to their entire list or run low-performing birthday flows that generate minimal revenue.
- Can analyse cohort data in platforms such as Triple Whale or Lifetimely to determine whether declining flow revenue is due to deliverability, offer relevance, or timing issues.
- Knows that 80% of welcome series conversions occur within the first 24 hours and builds flows strategically to maximise that opportunity.
This Role Is Not a Good Fit If
This position may not be suitable for individuals who:
- Consider a 40% open rate a sign of success, even when conversion rates are declining.
- Prefer creating numerous automations instead of focusing on a smaller number of high-performing, strategically built ones.
- Believe that testing subject lines is more valuable than testing offers and overall positioning.
- Are content functioning as a Klaviyo operator who simply follows client instructions rather than taking strategic initiative.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing retention strategy across 2–6 eCommerce brands generating between $5M and $50M+ in annual revenue. This involves developing and executing comprehensive email and SMS strategies that not only drive measurable revenue growth but also maintain strong list engagement. The role goes beyond launching campaigns — it focuses on architecting complete retention systems that deliver long-term results.
Strategy & Content
- Take full ownership of the strategic direction for assigned brands.
- Collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, and project managers to bring each strategy to life.
- Provide data-driven feedback and confidently challenge ineffective client tactics, recommending stronger alternatives backed by evidence.
Performance & Analytics
- Oversee the overall performance of email and SMS marketing channels.
- Analyse key metrics such as placed order rate, repurchase timing, and attributed revenue with attention to detail and nuance.
- Develop hypotheses, design experiments, and test new strategies for performance improvement.
- Present regular performance reports, insights, and testing outcomes to both clients and the CEO.
Client Communication
- Integrate effectively into clients’ marketing teams as a trusted strategic partner.
- Clearly communicate how email and SMS marketing align with and support broader business objectives.
- Proactively propose new experiments, content strategies, and opportunities without waiting for client direction.
Skills & Requirements
Technical Expertise
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing Email and SMS marketing for eCommerce brands.
- At least 2 years of in-depth experience using Klaviyo, including advanced segmentation, flow creation, and conditional logic.
- Proven track record of directly managing accounts that have generated over $500K in email and SMS revenue.
- Proficiency in analytics platforms such as TripleWhale, Lifetimely, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of key eCommerce performance metrics, including Lifetime Value (LTV), repurchase rate, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and contribution margin.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and professionally.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with tools such as Recharge, Yotpo, Attentive, Postscript, or Rebuy.
- Additional experience in other areas of digital marketing, such as paid advertising, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), or retention strategy programmes.
What Makes the Ideal Candidate Right for This Role:

- Direct and personable – Communicates clearly and confidently without unnecessary jargon, while maintaining a warm and collaborative approach.
- Self-managed – Thrives in a remote work environment, remains accountable, and requires minimal supervision.
- High integrity with a sense of humour – Approaches work with professionalism and honesty but maintains a light-hearted attitude and team spirit.
- Strategic thinker – Understands the ripple effect of decisions and plans with foresight to ensure sustainable long-term growth.
Work Environment
- Small team, big ownership – Luck & Co operates with a close-knit team of around 15 professionals based across California, Canada, Serbia, Georgia, Brazil, and other regions. Team members are entrusted with full ownership of their projects rather than simply executing predefined checklists.
- People first – The company values its team above all else. While client success is important, the culture prioritises the well-being and growth of its people over short-term gains or growth for its own sake.
- Opportunities to learn and grow – Employees collaborate with leading 8- and 9-figure brands, tackling meaningful strategic challenges that foster professional development and real-world expertise.
- Authentic, no-nonsense culture – The work environment is defined by honesty, direct communication, and a down-to-earth approach. The team believes in working hard while keeping things enjoyable and genuine.
