Content SEO Manager / Editor

Job Overview

The company is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Content SEO Manager to take charge of its editorial SEO initiatives. This position serves as the link between search intent and high-quality content, with the goal of driving strong rankings, engaging audiences, and converting visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for keyword research, content planning, and editing workflows while collaborating with SEO strategists, writers, and subject matter experts to build and expand topical authority across key content clusters.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead keyword research, content planning, and topic clustering to drive SEO growth
  • Develop content roadmaps aligned with the customer journey (awareness → conversion)
  • Analyse SERPs, competitors, and user intent to shape strategy
  • Create SEO briefs and optimise content for quality, readability, and search performance
  • Collaborate with design and development teams for engaging, on-brand content
  • Manage metadata (titles, headings, meta descriptions, alt tags)
  • Monitor performance with tools like Ahrefs, GSC, and Clearscope/SurferSEO
  • Refresh outdated content and A/B test headlines, CTAs, and formats
  • Report on key metrics: traffic, rankings, CTR, bounce rates, and conversions

Skills & Requirements

  • Over 3 years of experience in SEO content strategy, content marketing, or editorial roles
  • Strong expertise in keyword research, search intent analysis, and content scoring tools
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organisational skills
  • Proficiency with modern SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Clearscope, Surfer, Google Search Console)
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress or Webflow
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and on-page SEO best practices

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with international SEO or managing large-scale enterprise websites
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript, Core Web Vitals, and schema markup
  • Familiarity with A/B testing tools and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) practices

Bonus Skills

  • Experience scaling topic clusters and hub/spoke content models
  • Knowledge of programmatic SEO or dynamic landing pages
  • Background in journalism or professional content writing
