Job Overview
The Paid Search Strategist role is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising Google Ads campaigns in line with client goals. The position involves close collaboration with both clients and internal teams to develop data-driven strategies that improve online visibility, drive qualified traffic, and increase conversions through Google Ads. The strategist is expected to demonstrate strong expertise across all aspects of Google Ads, including keyword research, audience targeting, bid management, and performance analysis. Staying current with industry trends and Google Ads platform updates is essential to ensure consistently high campaign performance.
The role is based at Growth99, a company that delivers advanced software and digital marketing solutions for aesthetic and elective wellness practices. Growth99 supports businesses in strengthening their online presence, improving patient engagement, and enhancing operational efficiency through services such as website development, SEO, social media management, paid media, and AI-powered marketing tools.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am SAST.
A valid Google Ads Certification (Search, Display, Shopping, and YouTube) is required.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive Google Ads strategies to drive traffic, conversions, and revenue
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify optimisation and growth opportunities
- Create, manage, and optimise Google Ads campaigns across search, display, shopping, and YouTube
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics, including CTR, CPC, CPA, ROAS, and quality score
- Optimise bidding strategies, ad copy, and audience targeting to maximise campaign performance
- Plan and execute A/B testing on ad creatives, landing pages, and targeting strategies
- Collaborate with design and content teams to align creatives and landing pages with campaign objectives
- Prepare detailed performance reports and translate data into actionable insights for clients
- Stay up to date with Google Ads platform updates, features, and industry trends
- Manage and allocate budgets across multiple campaigns to ensure cost efficiency and goal achievement
- Align paid search strategies with broader marketing objectives in collaboration with internal teams
- Work closely with clients to understand business goals and provide strategic guidance
- Communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations during regular client meetings
- Support the preparation and presentation of reports and performance updates
- Contribute to broader company initiatives, including strategic planning, sales support, and integrated digital marketing projects
Skills & Requirements
- Demonstrated success in managing high-performing Google Ads campaigns that generate traffic, conversions, and revenue
- In-depth knowledge of all Google Ads formats, including search, display, shopping, and video advertising
- Strong proficiency in Google Ads tools and platforms such as Google Keyword Planner, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager
- Proven experience with bid strategy management, audience targeting, and conversion tracking implementation
- Advanced analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven optimisation decisions
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing and landing page optimisation techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex data and strategies to clients
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, enabling effective management of multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with additional paid media platforms, such as Bing Ads and Facebook Ads, considered an advantage
